After lunch, I continued south on Hwy 49 to Bass Lake and Auberry Rd /
Power House Number 1 Rd. I continued out Auberry Rd to meet up with
Hwy 168 and go into Shaver Lake. Continuing out Hwy 168 and south and
east of Huntington Lake to Kaiser Pass Rd.
Kaiser Pass Rd is a real goat trail. Perfectly passable by a
sportbike but it makes Tunitas Creek Rd look like a freeway by
comparison. I made it about 2/3 of the way to Lake Thomas A Edison
before I decided to turn around at the ranger station because the road
was taking its toll on my knees. This road goes through absolutely
incredible surroundings though!
On return I skirted the north/west side of Huntington lake and back to
Hwy 168 in Shaver Lake. It being a holiday weekend, I knew I wouldn't
find lodging near the lakes, so I headed to Freson to bed down for the
night.
